Toronto Professional Cat Photography

Want professional portraits of your cat? As a Toronto cat photographer I can make your dreams come true.

Most pet photographers specialize in dogs, and I admit that I do too, but I don’t forget about the importance of photography for your beloved feline friends.  Cat lovers need photos too!

Cat photo shoots may look a little different than a dog session, but the outcome is the same. You’ll have photos of your fur kids that you will treasure forever, photos that are frame-worthy and that you can be proud to display in your home.

Sometimes I think that people are hesitant to schedule a cat photography session because they think “my cat’s not going to co-operate” or “she’ll never come out of hiding”.   I’m not going to lie, a cat photo session is a little scary!

At a dog photo session I know they’ll hold a pose for long enough to capture it, and I know I will get them in action if they are able. I know I’ll get them looking at me and of course, being on leash or well trained, I know that they will be where I need them to be!

On the other hand, when I show up for a cat session, I never really know what to expect. Cats have their own agenda, that’s for sure. They can be totally independent and give you the stink eye. Or they can sidle up to you getting far too close to be able to take a photo. They can be shy and hide under the bed for ages!  While I always form a plan for what I want to capture, I know that with cats I will not always succeed. But no matter what I am faced with, we always end up getting a great series of photos for their humans.

Outdoor Cat Photography

It’s not too often that I get to take photos of cats outdoors, but if your cat is comfortable on leash, or free to roam your backyard, outdoor cat photo sessions can result in some lovely images of your feline friends in a natural environment.

At-home Indoor Cat Photography

If your cat is not an outdoor cat, we will conduct the session in your home. Let’s photograph them sitting on their cat tree, on a sunny window sill or napping in their bed. We will capture them doing what they do everyday. And we’ll capture those unique facial expressions.

Why Should You Hire a Professional Cat Photographer?

Most people might not even know that professional cat photography is a thing until they get a new kitten and think, hmm, I’d love some great photos of my new baby!

Or perhaps their precious cat is getting on in age and they realize that they don’t have any really amazing photos of him/her. So here are just a few reasons why you should invest in a professional photo session for your kitty.

  1. You have a cell phone filled with photos of your cat but, are they frame-worthy? Do they really capture those unique facial expressions? As a professional cat photographer I spend an hour or more observing and photographing your cat and capturing his/her unique facial expressions and body movements. My goal is to capture the joy and personality of your cat, all while you enjoy the experience of the shoot itself.

  2. It’s the best way of getting photos of you together with your cat! Yes I encourage you to be a part of the photo session as well so that you will always have beautiful and memorable photos of you with your cat.

  3. Let’s face it, cats are an integral part of your family, but they are only with you for such a short period of time. Celebrate your cats by documenting their lives with beautiful memories and photos that last forever. I can’t tell you how many times my clients tell me how grateful they are to have the photographs when their cats sadly pass on. It’s during those times that these photos become absolutely invaluable.
