Photography to raise funds for Toronto rescue dogs

This April I was thrilled to be one of 50 photographers  from across the globe to participate in the Tails of the World fundraiser for dogs in need.

Pet photographers from around the globe united to make a difference for pets in need through photography that will be published in a beautiful coffee table book, “Tails of the World: The Book”

Each photographer who participated was allotted 10 spots to feature their beautiful pet portraits in a stunning book. 100% of the session fees and book sale proceeds will be donated to local animal rescue charities. Through these mini sessions I raised $1000 for a local Toronto based rescue, Just Paws Animal Rescue

Founder of the Collective is Melbourne-based pet photographer, Caitlin J. McColl. “Seven years ago, I published my first book, Tails of Melbourne,” explains McColl. “I learnt so much from that experience, but one of the best things to come out of it was developing a creative process that other photographers could follow. Tails of the World was born from a dream to unite pet photographers in a mission to raise much needed funds for animal charities with beautiful photography and heart warming stories.”

I conducted my mini sessions at the lovely Alexander Muir Memorial Gardens in Toronto.  It is a beautiful garden with stone balconies and crushed brick walkways surrounded by lush greenery.  The tall stone wall inside the Garden displays another monument to the famous Canadian composer.  The secret garden also contains formal flower and herb beds, balconies and steps, wooden archways, and sunken gardens enclosed by maple, willow and oak trees.

Each of the 10 dogs were featured in a different part of the garden.  The photos have been submitted to the book publishers and I am eagerly awaiting the release date which is in May of 2023.

This is the reveal of the photos that were submitted for the Tails of the World book.  Enjoy!
