Let's face it... here in Toronto we've been looking forward to spring for so long and can't wait to get out in the warm sunshine with our furry friends. But as much as we love to take our dogs for a walk in the gorgeous spring weather, it can be pretty muddy! So what is the best way to deal with those muddy paws?
Here are a few tips that may help...
1. Keep a large plastic container outside your door - the size will depend on your dog. Fill it with water. When you return from your walk, simply dip your dogs feet in the paw bath and dry with a towel before letting him inside.
2. Carry the pocket size package of baby wipes with you. They are so convenient for on-the-go clean ups or a quick wipe before your dog goes inside.
3. Consider the balloon booties. They are easy to put on, can be rinsed for re-use and are relatively inexpensive. You can even buy packages of party balloons from the dollar store. Just make sure you get the large ones, unless you have a toy dog.
Sometimes as one of Toronto's dog photographers, I have to get muddy myself! Lying in the grass after a rain shower to take dog photos is fun, but can be messy too!
I hope these tips help get you and your pets out the door to enjoy our the wonderful spring weather and warm sunshine!
