Why I love Toronto as a pet and family photographer

If you live in the Greater Toronto Area and are thinking about getting a pet and family photoshoot - consider your self lucky!

Why, you may be thinking? Most importantly, Toronto is really pet friendly .  Dogs are welcomed in almost every place I can think of.

But here are my favourite reasons for enjoying dog photography in the Toronto area.

  1. Toronto’s parks and trails are abundant

Do you like the look of a natural environment or forest trails for your pet photo session? There are so many parks and trails that welcome dogs, so you will never be short of places to choose for a dog and family photo session in a natural environment.

Some of my favourites are:

  • High Park in Toronto which has some great trails and a pond for a watery background.

  • Earl Bales Park in North York which has many trails and lovely wooded areas.

  • Evergreen Brickworks where you will find nature trails, ponds and for something different you can wander into the brickworks themselves for a graffiti wall and some architecture.

  • Thornhill Forest is amazing for a lovely natural location for your pet and family photo sessions.

2. Toronto is a beautiful and diverse city

Do you prefer a pet photoshoot with a city vibe? The city has it all -  think graffiti walls, grand old buildings, modern architecture and more.

  • The University of Toronto area offers lovely old buildings that provide an interesting background for dog photography.

  • For great street scenes I go to Yorkville where some of the storefronts give me interesting city scenes.

  • Front Street around the St. Lawrence market is great for dog photography too. You can incorporate the The Flatiron Building, St. Lawrence Hall, and the St. Lawrence Market.

  • I love graffiti alley where the walls provide beautiful coloured backgrounds.

3. Toronto has beaches

Looking for a beachy feel to your photos with your dog playing and splashing in the water?

Our beaches in Toronto or the Scarborough areas will definitely fit the bill.

So whatever suits your fancy - you’ll find the perfect pet photography location in and around Toronto.  Just contact Terri for your complimentary consultation and to discuss your options for a photoshoot with your pet.
